Now more than ever, the world needs Canada’s world-class energy resources, produced under rule of law and among the highest environmental standards in the world.
The Trans Mountain Expansion project (TMX) – the twinning of an existing pipeline that has been safely transporting Alberta oil to the Port of Vancouver and on to international markets since 1953 – is key to making that happen.
But opponents are questioning the economic viability of the project – pointing to the impact of COVID-19, that there’s not enough product to justify the additional pipeline capacity and Canada’s Paris commitments – and are calling on the federal government to walk away from it.
Tell the Prime Minister that Canada needs the jobs, revenues and improved market access supporting good-paying, middle class jobs that Trans Mountain will provide. Your MP will also be cc-ed.
The global demand for oil and gas will continue to grow. That demand needs to be met by Canada.
