I believe that Canadian oil is produced responsibly and sustainably under some of the most rigorous environmental standards and should be the supplier of choice both home and abroad.
Canada currently imports billions of dollars of foreign oil. Since 1988, we spent almost half-a-trillion dollars on foreign oil imports; between 2010 and 2019 alone, imports from just the United States and Saudi Arabia totaled $100 billion.
With the third largest reserves of oil in the world, Canada is well-positioned to be the supplier of choice both domestically and globally.
Simply put, the world needs more Canada.
I hereby pledge my support for the Canadian oil and natural gas industry in that it provides billions of dollars in royalties and taxes to all levels of government that is then used to fund critical infrastructure, public healthcare and education, in addition to putting food on the tables of hundreds of thousands of families from coast-to-coast-to coast.
